Tori Webb

Preschool Director

Tori has 10 years of experience in a variety of group settings with children, ranging from infant-school age. She’s now a mom of a toddler herself, which has given her greater perspective on how to serve families with young children. She has a degree in Biblical Studies and is working on her Community Development degree and a masters program. Her love for biblical studies drives her commitment to continually improve the Academy Preschool program for the sake of its teachers and students. She loves working with the Academy Preschool team and the wonderful families the Academy Preschool serves. 

Hannah Duffy

Preschool Teacher

Hannah, with over 18 years of experience working with children and being a mother of four, has a rich background in various childcare settings, including daycares, parents' day out programs, and preschools. For the past 8 years, she has been an integral part of our preschool program, demonstrating expertise across all age groups in early childhood education. Additionally, Hannah has organized and executed vacation bible schools in multiple countries. With a degree in community development and nearing completion of her biblical studies degree, she brings a passion for education to the classroom, ensuring each day is filled with purposeful activities. Her teaching extends beyond academics, as she actively incorporates lessons on God's word and values through dynamic and practical methods.

Olivia Beaverson

Lead Teacher, 4-5 Yr. Olds; Assistant Teacher, 3-4 Yr. Olds

Olivia has 5 years of childcare experience and has been working with Academy Preschool since 2019. She is currently working towards degrees in Biblical Studies and Community Development minoring in theology and education. She enjoys breaking down biblical values and stories for her students to grasp. She loves getting to hear the many questions students have and is passionate about helping kids communicate their thoughts and feelings. Olivia strives to create an environment where kids are excited to keep learning and are confident about what they’ve been taught. 

Amanda Davis

Lead Educator

Amanda has been working with children for 20 years and is a mother of five. She has worked in a variety of settings ranging from daycare, summer camps, and Academy Preschool. She also has experience as an elementary aged reading teacher, and she has even taught abroad for 3 months. She has a certification in Missiology, and a degree in Biblical Studies. She has been teaching the Academy Preschool 4-5 Year Old class for the past 8 years, building its curriculum and tailoring it for each new group of students. As the Academy Preschool's Lead Educator, she implements a dynamic curriculum with her class, integrating biblical values, literacy, math, science, art, social/emotional and self help skills with lessons and activities that are hands on and engaging.

Harley Holland

Lead Teacher

Harley has been with our program for three years. She is the teacher for our 18 months-3yr old class, and also co-teaches in the 3-4 year olds. In addition to working towards her bachelors degree in biblical studies, she has over 6 years experience with childcare and babysitting. She strives to create a fun and safe environment that encourages her students to be better friends who learn and play well with one another. She loves helping parents feel confident and comfortable with the care their children are receiving.

Natalie Musche

Lead Teacher, 3-4 Yr. Olds

Natalie has worked with our program for over 10 years. She is the lead teacher of our 3-4 Year Old class, and loves teaching this age her dynamic curriculum. In addition to having two bachelors degrees in Biblical Studies and Community Development, she has additional experience and education in literacy and fine arts. She works with vulnerable groups in surrounding areas teaching English to Adult Language  Learners and is a professional fine artist. She implements art, literacy and biblical education into her class curriculum with her Preschool age group, making it a creative learning experience! 

Angelique Nibaruta

Preschool Teacher

Angelique Nibaruta  is from Congo DRC, and has been here in the US for 5 years now. She has been working with The Academy for GOD Preschool (formerly G.O.D. Parent’s Day Out)  since 2022. She is a college student at the Institute for G.O.D,  majoring in Community Development with a Social Services minor. She likes learning, spend time with kids , and youth. She just wants to be there for them, and she draws inspiration from what her own experiences from her childhood. Since she has been at the Institute, she has learned a lot through her Bible classes that has made her even more sensitive to refugees and immigrants children. She loves that Preschool gives her the sense of understanding of how to communicate with kids, how to see what they need, how to be a good listener, how to be  physically and mentally present so to be able to assure the safety of the kids, and to be helpful in other ways  for kids.

Melanie Flores

Preschool Teacher

Melanie started working with the Preschool in January and is working towards getting degrees in Biblical Studies and Community Development, minoring in filmmaking. She enjoys capturing moments through video and photography, often using her gifts to document the kids’ development and the Lord working within our preschool. She also loves helping the kids learn how to communicate their emotions and feel empowered to learn new things!5

Our Teachers

Are you open on holidays?

We follow a similar schedule to The Academy for GOD, and are closed for major holidays and have regular breaks such as Fall and Spring Break. Parents will receive our school calendar at the beginning of the year.

What is your discipline policy?

The full discipline policy in included in the parent handbook, which you will receive after enrollment. We implement developmentally appropriate redirection and teacher interaction with the student, keeping the parents involved in any issue that arises.

What is your health policy?

The full sickness policy is included in the parent handbook, which you will receive after enrollment. Children exhibiting sickness symptoms are not allowed to attend, and a child's sick sibling also prevents their attendance. 

Where exactly are you located?

We are located in the Hopewell Neighborhood in Old Hickory, Tennessee, just 20 minutes outside of Downtown Nashville.

What ages can you accomodate?

The Academy Preschool serves children 18 months-5 years old.

Are you open year round?

Our school year is August-May, and we have a summer program June-July.

What are student teacher ratios like?

Our child:teacher ratios follow TN state standards, with maximums being Toddlers 8:1, 3-4 Year Olds 9:1, and PreK 13:1. Our ratios are often much lower, as two teachers are usually present in each class daily.

What will my child learn at the Academy Preschool?

We have a developmentally appropriate curriculum for each age group, emphasizing Biblical values and stories, fun activities, interactive learning, and plenty of free play. Circle times include songs, learning times, and gross motor activities for each age group. 

Do you ever offer discounted rates? 

We do our best to offer affordable care solutions for children, and due to our already competitive rates and limited spots are not able to offer additional discounts. 

What denomination are you affiliated with?

The Academy for GOD Preschool's organization and staff are not affiliated with any one particular denomination. We embody the same statement of faith as our parent organization which you can read about here.

What agency is the Preschool licensed by?

The Academy for GOD Preschool is a School Administered Childcare, licensed by the Tennessee Department of Education. We are subject to regular inspections by the DOE, as well as Health/Environmental and fire inspections.

What do I do to apply?

Fill out this form or email preschool@academyforgod.org to get in touch with the Preschool Director. After applying, you will be offered a tour of Preschool if there are spots available for your child’s class. 

What age group will my child be placed in?

We have 3 classes: Toddlers, 3-4 Year Olds, and PreK. Toddler class is for children aged 18 months-36 months. 3-4 year olds is the next class, with PreK being for children who will enter Kindergarten the following year. Class placement is based on your child’s age on August 15th of the current school year, with minimal exceptions according to the TN Department of Education rules for school administered childcares.

The G.O.D. Parent's Day Out Program began in 2014 out of a heart to provide local families with a safe, fun, creative, and dependable environment for their children to learn and grow. In 2023, PDO transitioned to a Preschool licensed by the TN Department of Education: The Academy for GOD Preschool. Our experienced staff are passionate about serving children and creating an environment where they can thrive. 

Children 18 months through 5 years, who have not yet entered kindergarten, are invited to participate in Preschool. Our daily schedule includes developmentally appropriate opportunities for independent and collaborative play, music time, Bible stories, creative arts, outdoor play, lunch time, snack time, and more! Our curriculum includes Biblical values and the Preschool Laws (the 10 commandments adapted for children), early literacy, social studies, STEM, social emotional learning, sensory play, and motor development taught through a variety of engaging and entertaining activities. 

 We offer care Monday-Friday, with Wednesdays available to 3-5 year olds only. Our school year is August-May, and we have a summer program in June-July. We accept applications throughout the year. Contact us for available openings!
